Tropical Boyfriend Catalogue release their debut single Stop Being Lonely on Valentines Day, 2020.

Stop Being Lonely was written by Zak on one April afternoon after his first serious relationship ended.

“Songwriting has always been a way for me to understand my feelings,” Zak says.

“When I put my emotions in to lyrics, anything that I find easy to write is often not the thing upsetting me. Once I start writing down the realities I don’t want to admit to myself, I know that I am being honest.”

Zak then recalls, “I took my acoustic guitar in to my garden as it was a warm day. I sat in the grass and closed my eyes with the sun in my face. I detuned the B string on my guitar so that the instrument felt a little new. It let me find new shapes and ideas and soon I began finding the intro to the song. The chords and lyrics were suddenly finished in their entirety. I find the record raw to listen to. It takes me back to the hopelessness heartbreak brings but I also now treasure everything that has happened since I didn’t know what to do now and feel greater for it.”
